Cheeseburger has become a staple in American cuisine and is enjoyed by people around the world. Over the years, countless variations and toppings have been added to create the diverse range  of cheeseburgers available today.
Ingredients:
For the Burger Patties:
- 1 pound ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat is ideal)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Burger Assembly:
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your favorite cheese)
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Onion slices (red or white)
- Pickles
- Ketchup and mustard (optional)
- Mayonnaise (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Grill or Pan:

- If using a grill, preheat it to medium-high heat. If using a stovetop pan, set it over medium-high heat.
- Shape the Patties:

- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions.
- Shape each portion into a round patty, slightly larger than the size of the buns.
- Season each patty with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Cook the Patties:

- Grill or pan-cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare to medium doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheese on each patty and cover to allow it to melt.
- Prepare the Buns:

- While the patties are cooking, cut the hamburger buns in half.
- Optionally, you can lightly toast the buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble the Burgers:

- Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun.
- Add a cooked patty with melted cheese on top.
- Add tomato slices, onion slices, and pickles.
- Condiments:
Add ketchup, mustard, and/or mayonnaise to taste on the top half of the bun.
Complete the Burgers:

- Place the top half of the bun over the condiments to complete the burger.
- Serve:

- Serve the cheeseburgers hot with your favorite side dishes.
